Have you seen those metal buildings people are now using for main structures? I remember back when they were just carports and storage, well now people use them for everything! We are thinking about purchasing a metal building for our youth department to have our own building. I am sure it would be cheaper than building one from wood. We have a good size youth room upstairs but several things bother me about the space-
1. It's not handicap accessible.
2. It's not where you can check on the room before you go in. You have to know where to go, you won't just find it.
3. It's hot up there! the A/c struggles to cool and we have zero lights that work without giving off more heat!
4. There are no windows so it's dark and not friendly to guest.
5. The floors are thin- meaning if you are walking around in the youth room you hear everything down below, sounds like animals running!
We would love to have a big open space to hang out and a cafe type area, then have a smaller room for youth and worship and prayer. I hope we see it come into place in our time while we are there. We don't plan on going anywhere but you never know what God has in store!
